Wait 72 Hours! |
| It is great news that so many clients in our community have begun receiving the Covid-19 vaccine. However, it is important to allow 72 hours between your vaccine and your next massage.
Why is that, you may ask? Massage manipulates not just muscles and skin, but also the circulatory systems. The lymph system regulates the body’s immune response, and the Covid 19 vaccines initiate an immune response in your body. The immune response often triggers side effects such as aches, fever, chills, etc. You should never get massage when you’re having symptoms of immune response. The majority of possible side effects happen within the first 48 hours, but because Covid-19 is a novel virus and these are new vaccines, we’re asking you delay 72 hours before getting massage just to make sure you’re not going to have an adverse reaction to the vaccine. Here’s the information from one of our professional associations (and our largest liability insurer). https://www.abmp.com/updates/blog-posts/covid-vaccine-and-massage-when-it-safe-offer-massage During the 72 hours immediately following the vaccine, you can still come in for a Facial, or do an energy session such as Reiki or Cranial Sacral Therapy. There is nothing more important to us than your good health and well-being. Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns. 727-864-6688 – call or text IslandMassageTherapy@Gmail.com – email
